Monday, Monday!

Is it already the 7th? Oh, how time flies. I think I was secretly wishing for today not to come because I knew that I was going to have to say good-bye to Brooke.

Here she is with the laundry bag she made especially for camp.

She left this morning for 5th grade camp for 5 days and I have to tell you I was not prepared. This is the 1st time she has been away from home, ALONE! BUT, you'll be so proud, I only cried as I turned my back to leave(and for 10 minutes after she left). She is the sunshine in my day, which is so fitting that it rained this morning.

O.k., time to stop wallowing and make a little sunshine in someone else's day. The winner of this fabulous Simple Abundance bundle...

A sunburn and sand in my pockets.

Why is it that no matter how hard you try, the beach always seems to find it's way home with you. I have been shaking out my little boys pockets all day trying to lose the last traces of the beach, and I can happily say I am now on the last load. Hooray!

Well, I'm back, and ready to share all of my best memories from Market. So here they are!

First, the sweet and adorable Camille of Thimble Blossoms and her fabulous booth (no surprise there!)
There is no end to this girls creativity. Check out her new patterns in the shop and keep an eye out for her beautiful fabric line (and kits!) in the fall.

...and the fabulous and talented Sandi Henderson and Jennifer Storey. With whom we shared far too many laughs to the point of tears. These girls know how to make it through a long 3 days of Market.

...and the adorable Patty Young, who is as sweet in person as she looks. This super mom has some must have patterns and a fabulous new fabric line (all coming soon!). Check out the sneak speak.

 

...and an awful picture (sorry) of one of my favorite finds at Market. Yay, a designer who loves all of my favorite colors. Black and White!  Miss Paula Prass is every bit as sweet, charming, funny, and genuine as they come. This lady has it all together. I'm on pins and needles awaiting her new line!

...and Chelsea of Pink Fig Patterns who is every bit as darling as the patterns she creates. The kind of person who you feel like you have known forever. An absolute delight! Check out her new patterns. They're in!

...and last but not least, the new little bundle from 'Sample Spree'. A first for me, and I must say. an eye opener. Summed up in one word...Chaos! I got boxed out at the Moda table, by a little old Grandma, trying to get this little treasure. So I hope you like it, because I'm giving it away! It's a sweet little bundle from the Simple Abundance line from Bonnie and Camille.

Back from Market and off to California!

Well, put another pin in the map! I never thought that I would say that i've been to Pittsburgh.

But I couldn't be more excited! Now that my little ones are safely at Aunt's house, I'm almost packed...

I've made my new snazzy name tag...(no plain jane here!)

and of coarse, don't forget the book...(borrowed from the Baldwin Library)

and last but surely not least, the traditional pedicure! (I especially like this part) Not that you like seeing my feet. I promise I will not be making a habit of foot shots. Although if memory serves me correctly this is the second foot shot in a post. My feet don't get dressed up very often, so it becomes a reason to celebrate.

Oh and one final thing left to do. Business Cards! Yes your eyes did not deceive you, I am planning to cut them out with my Ginghers (please don't tell my Mom). Sometimes in a house with 4 little ones, it becomes nearly impossible to find a single pair. So we work with what we have. I know, it's shameful.

 

So it's off to market I go. I'll be back on Monday with lots to show and tell!

A Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had the chance to experience the excitement of an Easter Egg Hunt. It seems like the window of 'believing years' is shrinking. My little 9 year old Adi asked me this year if the Easter Bunny was real, to which the sad truth always follows:( But she made the sweetest comment after the hunt that made so much sense. She said " Now that I know about the Easter Bunny I can watch how excited Griff and Dax get, and it's just as fun." I thought that was such a sweet observation for a 9 year old. And it's true, it's still just as fun!

The Gift of Something Hand-made.

Nothing compares to a gift that is from the Heart. But when it is also hand-made, it's like the icing on the cake! I love it when I have the opportunity to make a quilt for someone. (I admit, this doesn't happen near enough!)  This little bundle found a new home with a wonderful family who has gone above and beyond for my little family. I wish that I could make a quilt for all the angels in our lives. I have the fabric...I just need to find the time.

On a similar subject, I was wondering if there is anyone that knows of a foundation or cause that would be in need of some quilts? I've been looking at my stash/collection feeling like it could be put to better use. Any suggestions?

I'm not fooling!

Well, I'm back in the saddle (so to speak). After four 11-hour days at the boutique, I've taken a couple of days to relax, bake a couple batches of cinnamon rolls, build a record-sized train track, and fully ignore my house work. This is the life! But as always, reality is too hard to ignore and I'm sure Brad is wondering just "what I do all day long". To be honest, some days I'm not so sure I could tell you the answer to that question. Time flies when you're having fun.

And speaking of fun...here is a happy little announcement:
