Heather Bailey is Here!

Well not really, but Pop Garden is! and Bijoux will follow shortly.( I hope,I hope)

I was so excited to see this line that I called up my cute friend Carolynn who came over and picked up a couple yards and this is what showed up on my doorstep the next morning. A sweet little 'Birthday Girl' in a darling skirt, made I'm sure into the wee hours of the morning, but Wow! Fab-u-lous! I want one in my size.

O.k., I need to explain 'Jane's Pick'. This is my favorite fabric, you know, the one that just jumps out and grabs you, the one you sit up at night trying to think of that just right project to use it in. I seem to have at least a couple in every line, hence , the collection of fabric that just seems to keep growing. And yes, I'm a sucker for Pink.

By the way, if you're dying to get your hands on Pop Garden leave me a message. Otherwise my website is set to  launch August 19th. Three weeks and counting!

A little frayed

O.k. I know I'm a bit premature with this post(the quilt isn't even quilted) but I couldn't wait to show you how it turned out. With the combination of bright colors and whimsical flowers I think it's the picture of summer time and the pattern... so fun and easy. I literally sat down and sewed it up in one evening. Wow, the Girls at "The Teachers Pet" really know how to design a pattern.

So in honor of my first blogged quilt I thought I would do my first Give Away!

How does this sound? A tin containing all you need to make the top of this cute quilt! Pattern, 184  5" squares, inner and outer border fabric, binding fabric, and Ric Rac! WOW!

M.I.A.

I have been so swamped that I didn't realize it had been so long since my last post. Between my daughter's 'Just 4 Girls' classes and a Benefit Fair for my niece's daughter Emma, I haven't had much time to think about anything else. O.K. a little explanation: Just 4 Girls is a cute little summer craft class that my daughter Brooke teaches every Thursday to all of the darling neighbor girls. Classes include Cake Decorating, Marble Magnets, Aprons (which is the one we just finished) and lots more. She has had so much fun and it has taught her, on a small scale, lots about running a  business. It's so fun to see her in front of 10 girls taking charge, explaining, and interacting on such a mature level. (I know I'm nearly busting at the seams)
The other event that has been consuming my time was this wonderful little Benefit Fair for Emma. Could you just squish her? This little ball of energy has defied
all odds to be here. Besides all the challenges that come with Downs Syndrome, she has developed juvenile diabetes and is in and out of the hospital. Needless to say their young family is buried in medical bills, so family and friends stepped in to help alleviate some of their burden.
We were so pleased at the wonderful turn-out to make the fair a giant success!

So now I hope that I will have more time to spend catching up with everything that I have neglected over the past few weeks.  (Big deep breath!)
