Rebecca is a friend of I mine who loves to make quilts almost as much as I do, or maybe more. I can't believe her. It seems like everytime I see her she says, "Well, I finished that quilt top and sent it to the quilter today?" Maybe, not quite that much, but it is very often, I promise. She is amazingly fast and such a perfectionist. Every quilt is so precise and beautiful. She has agreed to help me with this blog. So here are her awesome quilts and a few words from her:
I love the soft colors and the soft feel of the Japanese fabrics. I ran into some at a shop hop that I went to and bought a few fat quarters just to have in my fabric armoire. That was a year ago. I've enjoyed just gazing at them when I got into my stash.
Then I ran into laniejane.com and found the companion fabrics and bought the rest of the fabric that I needed for the borders and the back. This little quilt is going off to California to a new little granddaughter. Her name is Jessie. I had this one quilted with a poly batting and very open so that it would be puffy and fluffy. I know she will love it.
The other one that I made is quite different. It has the same pattern and the same fabrics but quilted with a hobbs 80/20 and very dense quilting with a small flower. It will be an heirloom quilt for sure. I have a Japanese niece and I know that she will appreciate the wonderful Japanese fabrics for her little girl that she has adopted.
I LOVE MAKING BABY QUILTS AND BABIES LOVE QUILTS!
Thank you Rebecca. You are wonderful and so are your quilts.
Happy Thoughts!
Lanie
